Artist's Statement (part of Diaspora Art Exhibition)
"L'dor v'dor, (italicize these words Bethany foreign language)
from generation to generation, is a significant part of a collection
of poems I am currently working on. I was one of the lucky ones
because my Jewish world was given to me with beauty and joy by
knowledgeable beloved ones in my family. The history of World
War II also shaped me and 57 years ago the outer Jewish world
helped give birth to a Jewish feminist which is reflected in the part
of my collection called This Is For The Women."
"... Five major influences were my work experiences, my social
activism, my deep connection to my Judaism, to feminism, and
living in other countries for three years. Working to become
fluent in three languages other than English and connecting to the
poetry and literature of poets and writers in five languages other
than English has deepened my own love of language and shown
me the unique beauty of each language and its connection to the
culture and people who use it."

Description (from www.englishbookshop.nl): This collection of poetry has been recently reviewed by Roodkoper, Tijdschrift voor Cultuur, Religie en Politiek (July, 2005). Judith has delivered a number of readings in the U.S. -- both live and on Wisconsin Public Radio. She is part of Mind's Eye Radio Collective of songwriters, poets, prose writers, that prepares a monthly program broadcast on a number of stations across the U.S.
Judith, a Regional Representative of the International Women's Writing Guild for Wisconsin, will be joined by Claudia Clemente, Regional Representative of the IWWG for the Netherlands, in introducing the IWWG. The Guild, founded in 1976, is a network for the personal and professional empowerment of women through writing and open to all regardless of portfolio. Female and male writers of all backgrounds, interests, and levels are invited to join for this event. The evening will be rounded out by prompt-driven writing and the opportunity for all participants to share the results.
